Port Authority of New York & New Jersey

Central Moving provided corporate relocation and project management services to the Port Authority of NY & NJ for its 450,000-square-foot move to 4 World Trade Center from six separate sites in New York and New Jersey.

Challenge: This historic move marked the reopening of the World Trade Center complex as 1,500 Port Authority employees became the first office workers to occupy the site since the September 11, 2001 attacks. The move was large in scope and volume as the agency had a tremendous amount of documentation to be packed, moved, and unpacked sequentially.

Central Moving: The move to the World Trade Center from six different locations required a large commitment of trucks, equipment, and manpower. Security was also a critical component in the planning and execution of this move. All manpower used for this project underwent background checks and are still active SWAC (Secure Workers Access Consortium) cardholders.
